IceWeb 2006 presentations
My two IceWeb 2006 presentations are now available to download as interactive Quicktime movies. (Now with details on an event video of IceWeb).
I would like to thank everyone who organised and attended IceWeb 2006. It has been a privilege to have been asked to present my two sessions, How To Be A Web Design Superhero and Feeding your Creativity without Compromising User Needs.
Interactive Quicktime presentations
Speaking alongside Eric Meyer Kelly Goto, Dave Shea, Joe Clark and Shaun Inman was a real pleasure.
Live-blogging
Joe has been active live-blogging at IceWeb.
- How To Be A Web Design Superhero (IceWeb version, Joe Clark)
- Feeding your Creativity without Compromising User Needs (Partial report, IceWeb version, Joe Clark)
In the absence of podcasts, Joe's is the great commentary to accompany the visuals if you weren't able to be at IceWeb 2006.
And if you were there, Takk guys!

Had the good fortune to be able to attend ICEWeb2006 for the full 2 days, Andy was one of the highlights with his insight into the webdesign world. Thanks

I loved the effect you use while showing the different sites.
I have been looking for some software to do that and I have never worked with QuickTime interactive movies....Does the effect has a name?
Is it part of a software you used?
Does anyone else know how to do that? -

@Dave: Iceland is a very cool place, but infact the weather was quite mild. (Am I getting old, talking about the weather? ;) )
@ Romeo: The slides were built using Apple's Keynote3, part of the iWork suite for Mac.
@ Sigurbjˆrn and ¡g˙st: It was a great pleasure to visit Iceland and to meet such warm and friendly people. I hope to be invited back another time!

Thanks for an entertaining, humorous and insightful presentation today.
I particularly liked the step-by-step transformation of the corpse bride website, from a crowded tag-soup to a beautiful, semantic document.
I hope it helps people understand how to really do websites properly. Focus first and foremost on the content, and then apply the desired layout using CSS.
Thanks again!

@Malarkey: Not at all - you can't not talk about the weather.

got 2 more question though:
1. what is the nameof the transition you used for the showcase of zen garden and other websites. it seems like is the cube effect but 2 different cubes
2. what compression settings did you use for the quicktime you exported? i am habing trouble exporting mine because it loses quality
any help, will be higly appreiated
i am preparing a conference for design students and i want to make the final quicktime avaiable for the too
