Ethical statement
We hope that our sense of humour shines through in our work, but we take some things very seriously. Here’s what we can and can’t do.
Saying no to military
We’ve been life-long supporters of nuclear disarmament and anti-war campaigns. If you represent an organisation that campaigns against the UK’s export of atomic, biological or chemical weapons, let’s talk. We offer lower rates and keep some days every month reserved for pro-bono work. If, on the other hand, your company’s main business is the supply of weapons, munitions or battlefield equipment to the military of any country, we’re not the right partner for you.
Saying yes to workers’ organisations
We actively accept commissions from trade unions and other workers’ representative organisations and we offer reduced rates for them because, in the eighties, we saw the impact that Tory monetarist policies had on working class people.
Saying no to the grant funding
We think that to care deeply about your website, you need to be spending your own, hard-earned, cash. That’s why we don’t accept commissions, that are in part or wholly grant funded by local or national government organisations in the UK, from private companies.
We don’t want to sound judgemental, after-all, business is business. But some things are more important than work or money and taking a stand against what we believe to be unethical or immoral goes a long way to helping us sleep at night.
