For A Beautiful Web DVD cover artwork

While the folks at New Riders work hard on editing the three DVDs that I recorded in February, and I make trouble by asking for tiny changes, I turned my attention to designing the cover artwork.

We recorded three titles as part of New Riders' new For A Beautiful Web series. (Links to cover designs on Flickr.)

Each cover will continue the theme but with variations in colour to make each title stand out (above).

Designing web accessibility cover artwork

It's been years since I've designed artwork not intended for screen, (give or take a business card here or a book there) so this was a nice opportunity to work on something a little different before I dive into my next project.

I need these design diversions every now and again, they're like mini brain reboots.

Very nice. Ties in with FABW website nicely.

They’ll almost look leather-bound! Is it too late to just bind them in leather?

Also, is there information about the videos themselves around here anywhere? I imagine it’ll be mostly screencasts, yeah?

Looks great Andy! Although the positioning of “Presented by Andy Clark” seems a bit off. Might be in my head though.

We’re looking forward to making the videos available this summer! Each one is approximately three hours and contains a combination of live action and screenshots to demonstrate concepts. It’s almost like being in a personal workshop with Andy. Project files are included too so you can follow along with the examples from Andy’s fictitious sci-fi web site created specifically for the videos. We’ll have more info up on www.newriders.com soon.

I love the old antique feel and rich deep colors used. I’m a fan of that style.
